CBD Facial by Heaven On Earth

CBD is suddenly in everything from sparkling water to daily supplements to dog treats, but the question remains does it work? While the jury is still largely out on the medicinal benefits of CBD due to a lack of research from prohibition, one application where it is best shown to work wonders is in skincare.

When using on the face and body, the proof is in the visible result: renewed, refreshed, and glowing skin.

CBD Oil And Your Skin

Did you know that CBD has some amazing abilities that can benefit your skin?

Dry Skin

CBD lotion can help revitalize your dry skin by applying it after a shower. It will help retain the moisture as well as encourage the cells to repair any damage.

Oily Skin

CBD oil inhibits overactive oil production in your skin without drying it out. It also helps heal and repair damaged skin that comes from pimples.

Acne

CBD oil not only inhibits overactive oil production, it also reduces pain sensitivity and inflammation caused by acne. It can also reduce the chances of scarring.

Skin Disease

Eczema and psoriasis can be helped by using CBD oil topicals by promoting healthy life cycles in your skin cells, reducing pain and inflammation, and reducing the risk of scarring.

Wrinkles

CBD can help with wrinkles by being an antioxidant, cleansing your skin from the damage it has received throughout the day. It also acts as a rejuvenation, keeping your cells young and healthy.

Cuts and Scrapes

CBD can encourage your wounds to heal faster. It has also shown the ability to reduce scarring leaving your skin blemish free.

As the first massage therapist in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley to bring CBD to my clients 2016, I am proud to also be the first to introduce the cannabis compound on my skincare treatment menu. Short for “cannabidiol” CBD has since taken the beauty industry by storm as a wunderkind ingredient and is just one of the 113 identified compounds found in the cannabis plant.

The dry air that comes with living or vacationing at a high altitude (7,908 feet above sea level!) can take a more extreme toll on your skin. And CBD is one of the most beneficial ingredients to help combat the damaging effects of the elements.

Dr. Jeanette Jacknin called hemp “the new cosmeceutical ingredient” during her “Hemp and Cannabinoids for Beauty and Skin Disorders” presentation at the American Academy of Dermatology’s annual meeting earlier this year. And now with the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, which will remove hemp from the Controlled Substances Act and make it a legal agricultural commodity again, the floodgates will fully open to even more studies of how the entire cannabis plant can enhance lives.

“One reason CBD-infused skincare is more effective is because hemp molecules are extremely small, making the penetration into the skin far easier than most creams,” according to Dr. Andrew Kerklaan, president and founder of leading CBD skincare line Dr. Kerklaan Therapeutics.

Using a personally curated selection of CBD products—each customized to clients skin type—my new CBD facial treatments (CannaBliss and Deep CBD) will directly address and help solve the following common skin issues:

Acne/Eczema

CBD inhibits the lipid production in skin cells, making it an effective preventative for acne while balancing out regeneration, also making it effective in cases of eczema.

Anti-aging

CBD protects the skin from free radicals like UV rays, smoke, and other environmental pollutants—critical in fighting the effects against time.

Anti-bacterial

CBD helps fight drug-resistant bacteria and is also used as a cure for minor skin infections.

Anti-fungal

CBD prevents the cell membranes of fungi from forming property.

Anti-inflammatory

CBD combats inflammation, reducing redness and uneven skin tones.

Anti-microbial

CBD inhibits the grown of bacteria that causes minor skin infections.

Antioxidant

CBD is more powerful than Vitamin C, E, A, or omega 3 fatty acid and causes a change in skin patterns, reducing hyperpigmentation.

Moisture

CBD plays a role in oil production naturally in the endocannabinoidsystem (ECS), so supplementing with CBD oil decreases dry skin.

The human body’s endocannabinoid system was only fully discovered in the 1990’s and is made up from naturally-occurring cannabis-like molecules it produces on its own. It’s fascinating that using cannabis in all of its many forms promotes and stimulates health and wellness from within. And when used topically, cannabis has ZERO EFFECT on altering your state of mind. It will only make you put forward your freshest and healthiest face yet!
