Everything You Need to Know About Microneedling in Aspen, CO

Whenever I recommend microneedling in Aspen, CO (aka collagen induction therapy, dermapen or micropen) to one of my spa guests, one of the first questions they always ask is: “Does it hurt?”

I promise it doesn’t! The word “needle” can really give this treatment a bad rap. I mean, who likes needles? Not me!

Let me explain how it works, why it doesn’t hurt, and some other common questions you probably have about this skincare therapy.

How Does Microneedling Work?

Collagen induction therapy uses tiny disposable needle tips in the skin in a calming, relaxing environment. This triggers the body’s healing response to naturally produce more collagen and healthy skin tissue to encourage smoother and firmer skin.

When giving this service at Heaven on Earth, I actually massage a numbing agent into your skin 30 minutes prior to help make you more comfortable. After all, a day at the spa should be relaxing. All you will feel is a slight pressure, almost like a cat licking your face.

A special solution of growth factors and pure hyaluronic acid are used with the micropen to give you enhanced results.

How Long Will It Take To See Results?

One of the best things about microneedling in Aspen is that you will see some results immediately after the first time. You will notice that your skin is tighter and smoother.

Over time (normally about 3-4 weeks and even up to 3 or 4 months), you will see these results as well:

Can I Wear Makeup or Sunscreen After?

For best results, it's imperative to wait 24 hourss before applying any of your home skincare or makeup to the face. I’ll give you a vial of hyaluronic acid to reduce inflammation and help keep your skin comfortable afterwards.

Wait until at least the next day before applying sunscreen because you don’t want anything but what is naturally a component of your body for the first 24 hours.

It's very important that you do NOT use Vitamin C within the first 24 hours as it can cause granular under the skin. Remember, after your microneedling session in Aspen, you don't want to use any skincare other than the hyuluronic acid I give to you.

Microneedling vs. Botox
